In the search for a systematic way of testing the combined Dreamspace Demonstrator in a structured manner, we came up with the idea of creating a futuristic environment for a TV show with user interaction and science-fictional genre. Showcasing the advancements of the Dreamspace technology can be done best in a focused environment, built under the premise of real-world scale productions while being set up exclusively for the evaluation purposes.

To show the productional value and to test the workflow internally, the resulting imagery of the Battleground production includes a behind-the-scenes as well as high-polished shots from our VFX pipeline. In the context of the delivery we tested much of the Dreamspace technology in a more combined manner, compared to the ongoing separate tests of the Dreamspace environment.
The Battleground production is the final production with the final Demonstrator.

Due to the deadline limitations and the need for convincing imagery, Stargate Germany utilised its international network and worked closely with Stargate Los Angeles to deliver the assets in a production value quality. Because of the creative nature of the production, not only the assets had to be built, also 3 weeks of preproduction for moodboards, concept- and production design and previsualization were invested, also a story treatment was written to have a better understanding of the idea to share between the different partners of the Dreamspace project.
